Paul Gilman for State Senate

paul_1Paul Gilman (Green Party) is on the ballot for this November’s general election, State Senate District 11.

Tony Avella, the incumbent and member of the Independent Democratic Caucus wins the primary for the 11th State Senate District (most of Eastern Queens, centered around Flushing), against Queens Democratic machine backed challenger John Liu.

Both Liu and Avella are liberal Democrats with similar ideologies. Between the two of them, not much to choose from. The primary was mostly a lot of mud slinging.

The house I live in received three glossy attack ads paid for by the Bronx IDC emphasizing the scandals that surround Liu. Liu attacked Avella for aligning himself with the Republicans and the most right-wing Democrats through his membership in the IDC.
